‎CDS Southwest Unity Basketball Championship Reaches Semifinal Stage

‎Four teams will battle for a place in the final of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Southwest Unity Basketball Championship after qualifying for the semifinal.

‎In Saturday’s semifinals, Hoops & Reads will face Delta Force in the first fixture scheduled for noon at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos as the competition which started on Tuesday 30 September reaches the business end. In the other semifinals, Police Baton will go head-to-head with Oluyole Warriors in the second semifinal by 2:00pm.

‎Quarterfinal Recap

‎Hoops & Reads booked their place in the semifinals with a commanding 73–54 victory over Edo Beads. After ending the first quarter with a 5 point lead (15-10), they took over the second quarter and dominated with a 27–4 run. They saw out the game with a decent show in the third and fourth quarters 18–17, 13–23

‎Delta Force also secured a spot in the last four, defeating Ogun Rockets 56–40 as they dominated across all quarters- 15–8, 14–9, 13–12, 14–11.

‎In one of the tightest games of the round, Police Baton edged past the University of Ibadan with a narrow 53–50 win. Despite a slow start, they rallied in the second and third quarters to stay ahead: (12–20, 16–10, 17–7, 8–13).

‎Oluyole Warriors advanced with a solid 71–51 win over Ekiti Fountains, pulling away in the third quarter with a decisive 24–6 run: (14–11, 19–22, 24–6, 14–12).
