‘I’m Always Afraid When Osimhen Travels For Nigeria’ – Galatasaray Coach

Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has admitted that he always feels uneasy whenever Victor Osimhen leaves to represent Nigeria during the international window, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Buruk expressed concern after the striker suffered an ankle injury in the Super Eagles’ 1-0 victory over Rwanda in Saturday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

“If there is a problem with Osimhen, we want to send a plane immediately to bring him back to Türkiye. We hope it’s nothing serious,” Buruk told Now Spor, as quoted by Habersarikirmizi.

The coach narrated how he first got the news while at dinner. “A waiter approached me with his phone, showing me the update about Osimhen. I always worry whenever he goes on international duty, and tonight we experienced that fear again. We contacted him, and the feedback we got is that he has pain in his foot.”

The Nigerian forward is now a major doubt for Galatasaray’s upcoming league game when action resumes in Türkiye this weekend.
