The head coach of the Teranga Lions of Senegal, Pape Thiaw, has once again tendered an apology following his recent comments, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Speaking to journalists in Dakar on Thursday afternoon, Thiaw clarified that his actions were driven by a desire to protect his players and not to undermine the rules or principles of the game.
The Senegal coach explained that emotions ran high during the incident, stressing that his reaction was aimed at preventing what he perceived as injustice against his team.
“I was simply trying to protect my players from injustice. It was never my intention to go against the principles of the game".
" I apologize if I have offended anyone, but football fans will understand that emotion is an integral part of this sport,” Thiaw said.
Thiaw’s comments come amid ongoing discussions surrounding conduct on the touchline, with the coach emphasizing his respect for the laws of the game and the authorities responsible for enforcing them.
