17 Teams To Learn Fate in Live NWFL Championship Draw

The Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) has confirmed that the official draw for the 2025 NWFL Championship will take place on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 1:00 PM. The event will be held at the NWFL Secretariat in Abuja and will be conducted online to ensure transparency and wider accessibility.

The draw will feature 17 participating clubs, which will be divided into four groups. The top team in each group will earn automatic promotion to the 2025/2026 NWFL Premiership season.

In a statement, NWFL Chief Operating Officer, Modupe Shabi, emphasized the league's commitment to professionalism and fairness, stating that the online broadcast of the draw is part of ongoing efforts to enhance inclusivity and public engagement.

“The draw will be streamed live to ensure greater visibility and transparency,” Shabi said. “A livestream link will be shared with all stakeholders and media outlets ahead of the event.”

The 2025 NWFL Championship is scheduled to run from September 11 to 21 in Abia State. League officials have urged all clubs to ensure full representation at the draw, describing it as a critical step in the competition’s organizational process.

The NWFL reiterated its dedication to fostering the growth of women’s football in Nigeria, vowing to deliver a professionally run tournament that upholds the values of fairness and competitiveness.
