2025 Afrobasket: D’Tigress Crush Cameroon to Set Up Semifinal Clash With Senegal

Reigning champions, D’Tigress, have booked their place in the semifinals of the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket after a commanding 83–47 victory over Cameroon in Abidjan on Thursday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The dominant performance underscored Nigeria’s title credentials as the four-time champions outclassed their opponents with superior defense and fast-paced offense from the opening tip.
D’Tigress will now face Senegal in a high-stakes semifinal clash on Friday, August 1st, 2025, in what promises to be a thrilling contest between two African basketball powerhouses.
In the second semifinal, Mali will square off against South Sudan, with both teams seeking a historic berth in the final.
Nigeria is aiming to win a record-extending fifth consecutive AfroBasket title.
Meanwhile, all semifinalists which includes; Nigeria, Senegal, Mali and South Sudan have qualified for FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup 2026 qualifying tournaments.
Two group winners, Uganda and hosts, Côte d'Ivoire, fell short in the quarterfinals.
The FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup qualifier will be held in March 2026.
