2026 W/Cup Qualifier: Amavubi Resumes Training In Uyo For Super Eagles Clash After Arriving On Tuesday Evening

Rwanda’s national football team, the Amavubi, has officially resumed training in Uyo ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying clash with the Super Eagles of Nigeria, BSNSports.com.ng reports 

The East African side touched down in Uyo on Tuesday evening and wasted no time in settling down for business, as preparations kicked off immediately under the supervision of the technical crew.

Head coach Torsten Spittler led his players through their first training session at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Wednesday morning. The session focused on fitness drills, tactical adjustments, and light ball work, as the Amavubi seek to stay sharp ahead of Friday’s crucial encounter.

Rwanda comes into the game on the back of a strong start to their qualifying campaign and will be hoping to spring a surprise against the star-studded Nigerian side. The players looked motivated and eager to make a statement as they filed out for training.

Team officials confirmed that the squad is in high spirits, with no major injury worries reported, giving Spittler a full complement of players to choose from for the tie.

The Amavubi are expected to intensify their training sessions in the coming days as the countdown to the much-anticipated clash continues.

Nigeria will be banking on the firepower of their attacking stars and home support in Uyo, but Rwanda has vowed not to be intimidated, setting the stage for a thrilling battle under the floodlights at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
