3SC, Aweroro Part Ways After Historic Continental Qualification

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan and head coach Nurudeen Aweroro have mutually agreed to end their relationship, with the club also announcing the departure of its team manager, Tammy Tamuno, and assistant coach Shakiru Lawal, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The decision comes after Aweroro guided the Oluyole Warriors to a third-place finish in the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season, their best league placing in recent years, earning the club a ticket to compete in the CAF Confederation Cup.

In a statement, the club said the decision followed discussions with the affected members of the technical team, with both parties agreeing to bring their contracts to an immediate end.

“We have reached a mutual agreement with Head Coach Nurudeen Aweroro, Team Manager Tammy Tamuno and Assistant Coach Shakiru Lawal to bring their respective contracts with the club to an end, with immediate effect.

“The decision follows discussions between the club and the affected members of the technical team, with both parties agreeing to part ways amicably.”

The club expressed its appreciation to Aweroro, Tamuno and Lawal for their commitment and professionalism during their time with the Oluyole Warriors.

3SC particularly acknowledged their contributions to the club’s impressive campaign, which culminated in a third-place finish and qualification for continental football.

“The Club particularly acknowledges their efforts in helping Shooting Stars achieve a third-place finish in the 2025/26 NPFL season and secure a continental ticket.

“We thank them immensely for their service and wish them all the very best in their future endeavours and continued success in their careers.”

The club added that its remaining assistant coaches have been directed to oversee the affairs of the technical department on an interim basis pending the appointment and announcement of a substantive head coach.
