The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will be broadcast free-to-air in the United Kingdom after securing a landmark agreement with Channel 4, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The deal ensures that all 52 matches of the tournament will be available to UK audiences without subscription costs significantly expanding AFCON’s global visibility.

Under the agreement, live coverage will be shown across Channel 4, E4, 4Seven, and the network’s digital streaming platforms. The competition, scheduled to take place in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026, is expected to feature some of the Premier League’s biggest African stars, including Mohamed Salah, Bryan Mbeumo, and Alex Iwobi.

CAF says the move is part of a wider strategy aimed at boosting global viewership and elevating the tournament’s international profile. Coverage will be produced in partnership with IMG, CAF’s international media rights agency.

Meanwhile, in Nigeria, DSTV and GOtv remain the confirmed broadcasters for the competition.

The new UK broadcast arrangement marks another step in CAF’s efforts to bring African football to a broader international audience.
