Nigeria’s Super Eagles technical crew members Daniel Ogunmodede and Fidelis Ilechukwu have departed for Cairo to join the national team’s base ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The duo are expected to link up with the rest of the Super Eagles contingent as preparations intensify for the continental showpiece scheduled to take place early next year.
As part of their build-up, Nigeria will face seven-time African champions Egypt in an international friendly at the Cairo International Stadium next Tuesday.
The encounter is expected to serve as a key test for the Super Eagles as the coaching crew fine-tunes tactics and assesses player readiness ahead of the tournament.
Following the friendly against the Pharaohs, the Super Eagles will depart Cairo aboard a chartered flight to Fès, Morocco, two days later.
Fès will serve as Nigeria’s base and battleground for their Group C fixtures at the 2025 AFCON.
Nigeria will be aiming to make a strong impression in Morocco as they chase a fourth AFCON title, with preparations now entering a decisive phase.
