AFCON 2025: Senegal Raises Serious Concern Ahead of Final

Senegal has officially written to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to raise several concerns ahead of Sunday’s Africa Cup of Nations final against host nation Morocco in Rabat, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Teranga Lions are unhappy with arrangements surrounding their preparation, ticket allocation, and security, just days before the highly anticipated showdown.
Training Venue Concern:s Senegalhase declined to train at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, citing concerns over privacy and competitive integrity.
According to the African champions, Morocco’s national team is based opposite the facility, raising fears that their training sessions could be monitored or recorded.
As a result, Senegal has formally requested that CAF provide an alternative training venue to ensure fair preparation ahead of the final.
The Senegalese Football Federation also expressed dissatisfaction with ticket allocations for the final.
Senegalclaimsm they were issued only two VVIP tickets and faced restrictions when attempting to purchase additional tickets. Despite these challenges,
Senegal confirmed they were able to secure: 300 Category 1 tickets, 850 Category 2 tickets and 1,700 Category 3 tickets.
However, they insist the allocation remains grossly inadequate, especially given the large Senegalese community currently residing in Morocco and the significance of the occasion.
Security has also emerged as a major concern for the Teranga Lions. Upon their arrival in Rabat, Senegal, the players alleged that security arrangements were insufficient, exposingthems to fans and distractions.
The team described the environment as “not conducive” for proper concentration and mental preparation ahead of a final of such magnitude.
With tensions rising ahead of Sunday’s decider, CAF are now expected to respond to Senegal’s concerns as both teams intensify preparations for the AFCON 2025 final in Rabat.
