AFCON 2025: Tunisia Coach Reveals His Opinion About Super Eagles

Ahead of the 2025 African Cup of Nations in Morocco, Tunisia’s head coach, Samy Trabelsi, has shared his thoughts about Nigeria and the other teams in their group, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 2004 AFCON champions were drawn in the same group as Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Tanzania’s Taifa Stars, and Uganda’s Cranes.

Speaking with CAF Media, the former Tunisian international acknowledged Nigeria’s strength and depth, highlighting the quality of their players plying their trade across top European clubs.

“They are all nations to be respected. Tanzania is improving, with clubs regularly competing in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup,” Trabelsi stated.

“They leave a strong impression. They also have a standout player, Ali Samata, an excellent striker who has had a good career in Europe.

“Nigeria remains a continental powerhouse, with a vast pool of talent playing at top European clubs.

“Uganda is a nation progressing steadily. They had a solid qualifying campaign, even if their World Cup qualifiers were not exceptional. But everyone comes to the AFCON intending to go as far as possible, and often, unexpected teams beat stronger sides,” he added.

The highly anticipated AFCON 2025 tournament will kick off in Morocco, where Group C —Tunisia, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Uganda —promises thrilling encounters.
