AFCON 2025: We Are Capable Of Hurting Any Team – Osimhen Warns

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has issued a strong warning to Nigeria’s potential rivals ahead of the knockout stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, insisting the team has what it takes to challenge any opponent in the tournament, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Despite Nigeria’s inconsistent performances in recent outings, doubts have been raised in some quarters about the Super Eagles’ credentials as genuine title contenders. 

However, Osimhen has dismissed such concerns, expressing firm belief in the quality and strength within the squad.

The Galatasaray forward placed Nigeria among the favourites to lift the trophy, stressing that the Super Eagles possess the firepower and depth to trouble even the strongest teams at the competition.

“Yes, I put Nigeria among the top contenders to win the title,” Osimhen said.

“We are one of the most formidable teams in this tournament. 

Any team can face us if they are good, they may qualify, and if not, we are capable of outperforming any team. We have the quality to hurt any big or strong team in this tournament.”

Nigeria will be aiming to translate that confidence into results as the AFCON 2025 reaches its decisive phase, with Osimhen expected to play a key role in the Super Eagles’ quest for continental glory.
