Following the conclusion of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final, Moroccan police have placed 18 Senegalese supporters and one Algerian supporter in custody, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to information relayed by Le Parisien, the arrests were carried out on the orders of the Rabat Court of First Instance in the aftermath of the final held at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.

The 18 Senegalese supporters are suspected of committing acts of hooliganism inside the stadium, while the Algerian supporter is accused of inciting hooliganism during the same incident.

Security agencies reportedly intervened swiftly to restore order, as investigations continue into the disturbances that marred the post-final atmosphere.

Further updates are expected as judicial proceedings progress.
