Fresh controversy has emerged over the final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations following an explosive investigation by Le Monde, raising the possibility that the result of the tournament could be overturned, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to the report, Senegal national football team allegedly walked off the pitch in the 97th minute of the final an action that, under Confederation of African Football regulations, typically constitutes an automatic forfeiture.

The situation is further complicated by claims that match officials were instructed not to issue red cards to Senegal players in order to avoid a potential scandal during the live broadcast, a move that could amount to serious breaches of officiating protocol.

With the integrity of the final now under scrutiny, the case is reportedly heading toward the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), where a definitive ruling could be made.
