AFCON 2027: CAF Inspection Team Storms Tanzania

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) inspection team has arrived in Tanzania to assess the country’s preparations and infrastructure ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The inspection exercise is scheduled to run from September 1 to 3, as CAF continues its assessment of the three East African co-hosts ahead of the continental tournament.

The inspection team will evaluate key areas including stadium facilities, training grounds, accommodation, transportation and other tournament-related infrastructure.

Tanzania is co-hosting the 2027 AFCON alongside Kenya and Uganda, with the three countries jointly staging the competition.

The CAF team was recently in Kenya as part of the ongoing inspection process and is expected to continue its assessment across the host nations.

The inspections are aimed at ensuring that the necessary facilities and infrastructure meet CAF’s required standards before the tournament.

The 2027 AFCON will mark a significant milestone for East African football, with Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda preparing to host Africa’s biggest football tournament.
