Nigerian referee Abdul Salam Abiola has been appointed to officiate the third-place match of the 2025 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations between Egypt and Morocco, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) selected Abiola to take charge of the encounter, which will determine the bronze medal winners of the tournament.

The highly anticipated clash is scheduled to take place on Monday, June 1, with both North African sides aiming to finish the competition on a positive note after missing out on a place in the final.

Abiola's appointment is another recognition of Nigerian referees on the continental stage, as he continues to earn opportunities at major CAF competitions.

Egypt and Morocco will battle for third place, while attention will also be focused on the final match to crown the new African U-17 champions.
