African Games 2027 Dates Confirmed As Cairo Prepares To Host Continental Showpiece

The official dates for the 14th African Games have been confirmed, with the continental multi-sport event set to take place in Cairo, Egypt, from August 27 to September 10, 2027, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The confirmation was made in a statement released by the African Union Sports Council, which announced that the Egyptian capital will stage Africa's biggest sporting event over the two-week period.

"The 14th African Games will be hosted in Cairo, Egypt, from 27 August to 10 September 2027," the council stated.

The Games will bring together thousands of athletes from across the continent to compete in various sporting disciplines, providing a platform for Africa's finest talents to showcase their abilities while strengthening unity and sports development across member nations.

Cairo will become the centre of African sport during the competition as the city prepares to welcome athletes, officials and fans from across the continent for the prestigious event.
