African Volleyball Championship: Nigeria Edge Ghana In Five-Set Thriller

Nigeria secured a thrilling victory over Ghana in a West African derby at the 2026 African Senior Nations Volleyball Championship in Kenya, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian team prevailed 3-2 after a fiercely contested encounter, winning 25-21, 21-25, 25-11, 11-25, 18-16. Nigeria dominated the third set but Ghana responded strongly in the fourth to force a decisive fifth set.

The final set went down to the wire before Nigeria clinched an 18-16 victory.

The result leaves Nigeria third in Group C as they continue their campaign at the continental championship.

Nigeria will face Cameroon on Thursday in their next group-stage fixture, with another victory crucial to their hopes of progressing further in the competition.
