Aruna Cruises Into WTT Champions Macao Round Of 16

Nigeria’s Quadri Aruna got off to a flying start at the WTT Champions Macao 2025, overpowering China’s Huang Youzheng in straight games to secure a place in the men’s singles round of 16, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

 The world number 26, who has struggled for consistency in recent months, looked revitalized at the Macao East Asian Games Dome, sweeping aside the wildcard entrant 11-3, 11-8, 11-8.

Aruna registered 33 points in total, with 19 coming on his serve and 14 on his opponent’s, compared to Huang’s 19 overall.

The victory sets up a round of 16 tie for the Nigerian star against the winner of Wednesday’s matchup between Germany’s Patrick Franziska and sixth seed Xiang Peng of China.
