Super Eagles stars Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey joined celebrations marking International Women’s Day by honouring their mothers ahead of Fulham FC’s FA Cup clash against Southampton FC.

The Nigerian internationals donned customised white Fulham tracksuits bearing their mothers’ names on the back, a symbolic gesture recognising the women who have played significant roles in shaping their lives and football careers.

The tribute formed part of Fulham’s broader activities commemorating International Women’s Day, aimed at highlighting the contributions of women within football and across society.

Iwobi and Bassey proudly displayed the personalised tracksuits during the pre-match build-up, using the moment to celebrate their mothers and acknowledge the influence of women who inspire and guide future generations.

Both players have been key members of the Nigeria national football team, helping the Super Eagles secure a third-place finish at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
