Belgian, Turkish Clubs Eye Akwuegbu FC's 18-Year-Old Prolific Forward

Akwuegbu FC striker Dayo Wahab has emerged as one of Nigeria's most sought-after young forwards, attracting interest from several Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clubs as well as teams in Europe ahead of the 2026/27 season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 18-year-old striker has caught the attention of scouts following a prolific campaign in which he impressed with his consistent goalscoring performances for Akwuegbu FC in the Nationwide League One (NLO).

Wahab also enjoyed a successful spell on loan at Plateau United, where he continued his fine scoring form after earning the move through his outstanding displays in a Plateau State-organised competition. He finished as the competition's highest goalscorer, a performance that convinced Plateau United to secure his services on loan.

His goalscoring exploits have reportedly attracted interest from NPFL sides Kano Pillars and Doma United, both of whom are monitoring his situation ahead of the new campaign.

Beyond Nigeria, Belgian club Zulte Waregem is understood to be among the European teams tracking the youngster, while clubs in Austria and Turkey have also expressed interest in signing the promising forward.

With the 2026/27 season approaching, the Akwuegbu FC forward Wahab is expected to be at the centre of transfer discussions as clubs seek to secure the signature of one of Nigeria's emerging attacking talents.
