Nigerian forward Victor Boniface is in line to make his first appearance for Werder Bremen when they visit Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sunday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The 24-year-old is expected to feature in Bremen’s squad for the Bundesliga encounter at Borussia-Park, with kick-off set for 4:30 p.m. Nigerian time.
Boniface joined Bremen on loan from Bayer Leverkusen on transfer deadline day, after a proposed summer move to AC Milan collapsed.
He was officially unveiled by the club last week following a successful medical.
Having played a key role in Leverkusen’s unbeaten Bundesliga title campaign in 2023/24, the striker is now tipped to bolster Bremen’s attack.
Manager Horst Steffen is considering pairing him with Romano Schmid and Samuel Mbangula up front as the team seeks a response to their 1-4 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt, amid ongoing injury concerns.
