Côte d’Ivoire Strengthens Football Infrastructure As CAF Approves Six Stadiums

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has approved all six major stadiums constructed or renovated by the Ivorian government, further strengthening Côte d’Ivoire’s reputation as one of Africa’s leading destinations for international football, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The approval represents a major boost for the country’s sporting infrastructure and validates the government’s significant investment in modern football facilities.

The six CAF-approved venues are the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ebimpe, the Félix Houphouët-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, the Stade de la Paix in Bouaké, the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Korhogo, the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro and the Laurent Pokou Stadium in San-Pédro.

The certification means the stadiums have met CAF’s requirements for hosting major international fixtures, giving Côte d’Ivoire a strong portfolio of venues capable of accommodating high-profile continental competitions.

The development also underscores the lasting impact of the country’s investment in sports infrastructure, following the successful hosting of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

With six modern venues now approved by Africa’s football governing body, Côte d’Ivoire has further enhanced its capacity to stage major international matches under facilities that meet required continental standards.
