By Niyi Busari
C2E Sports Academy and Obosa Queens FA will battle for the inaugural NWFL Nationwide 2026 title after both teams secured promotion to the NWFL Championship, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The two sides booked their places in the final following impressive victories in their respective semi-final clashes at the Enyimba Stadium in Aba, setting up a decisive showdown for the championship trophy.
C2E Sports Academy secured a 4-2 victory over Kwara United Queens in the first semi-final, overcoming an early setback to produce a strong second-half performance.
Kwara United Queens took the lead in the third minute through Oluwabunkunmi Azeez before C2E Sports Academy levelled through an own goal by Omobolanle Abdulganiu shortly before half-time.
Amarachi Nnorom restored Kwara United Queens' advantage two minutes into the second half, but C2E responded emphatically.
Chidinma Gideon equalised in the 52nd minute before Taiwo Omoniyi's own goal put C2E ahead in the 74th minute. Agnes Ohuche then sealed the victory with an 87th-minute strike.
In the second semi-final, Obosa Queens FA edged Onimarg FC 4-2 in another entertaining encounter.
Onimarg FC raced into an early lead when Victoria Yakubu scored in the 10th minute, but Obosa Queens responded three minutes later through Chinemerem Nnachi.
Adeomo Lovelyn restored Onimarg's advantage in the 33rd minute, only for Obosa Queens to turn the game around before and after the interval.
Idowu Saidat scored twice — in first-half stoppage time and in the 55th minute — to put Obosa Queens ahead before Aliu Rofia added a fourth goal in the 92nd minute to complete the comeback.
With both semi-final winners already assured of promotion to the NWFL Championship, the final will now determine who becomes the maiden NWFL Nationwide champion.
The Enyimba Stadium in Aba will host the title decider as C2E Sports Academy and Obosa Queens FA go head-to-head for the trophy.
