The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has formed a committee to examine the implementation of the proposed African Nations League, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The committee has already commenced discussions, with some meetings held virtually via Zoom as CAF moves closer to developing a framework for the new competition.
Among the key members of the committee are CAF President Fouzi Lekjaa, Football Kenya Federation President Wallace Karia and Eritrean football administrator Paulos Weldehaimanot.
The committee is expected to work on a detailed proposal outlining how the African Nations League could be implemented before submitting its recommendations to the CAF Executive Committee for further deliberations.
The proposed competition could become another major addition to Africa's football calendar, potentially providing national teams with more competitive fixtures while creating additional opportunities for players and federations across the continent.
