CAF Gives NFF July 25 Deadline For CAF Interclub Competition Entries

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has fixed July 25, 2026, as the deadline for all Member Associations, including the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), to submit the names of clubs that will represent their countries in next season's CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

CAF also clarified the replacement procedure for clubs that may be unable to participate in the competitions. 

For countries with a single CAF Champions League slot, the league runner-up will automatically replace the champion if the latter is unable to take part.

For associations with two representatives, any unavailable club will be replaced by the teams that finished third and fourth in the domestic league standings respectively.

Nigeria will be represented by Rangers International and Rivers United in the CAF Champions League following their qualification from the Nigeria Premier Football League season.

In the CAF Confederation Cup, Shooting Stars have already secured one of Nigeria's slots. 

The second representative is yet to be confirmed as the final of the President Federation Cup is still pending.

The NFF is expected to forward the names of the qualified clubs to CAF before the July 25 deadline as preparations begin for the 2026/27 continental club season.
