CAFCL: Finidi Targets Perfect Playing Conditions in Maputo

Rivers United head coach, Finidi George, has expressed optimism about getting favorable playing conditions in Maputo ahead of their CAF Champions League second preliminary round first-leg clash against Black Bulls, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Pride of Rivers are set to take on the Mozambican champions on Saturday, as they continue their quest for a spot in the lucrative group stage of the competition.

Speaking before the team’s departure, Finidi emphasized the importance of a good atmosphere and playing surface for his side to execute their game plan effectively.

“We have learnt from the mistakes of our recent games,” Finidi said.

“We’ve corrected the lapses, and hopefully, we’ll get a good atmosphere in Maputo to play our game.”

Rivers United advanced to the second round after overcoming Les Aigles of DR Congo in the previous stage.

The return leg will take place in Uyo, where Finidi’s men will hope to seal qualification to the next round.
