Ahead of the crucial second leg of the CAF Champions League second preliminary round against Remo Stars, all is not well in the Mamelodi Sundowns camp, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Head coach Miguel Cardoso on Thursday confirmed several injury concerns within the squad.

“We have some more severe issues like Mothobi Mvala, who had surgery last week,” Cardoso revealed. “He’s the most difficult case in terms of long-term recovery, and it will take some time before he returns.”

The coach also provided updates on other players:

“We have Mali [Khoza], who picked up a minor ankle injury. Thankfully, there’s nothing broken just a small issue that needs proper recovery time. He’ll be back soon,” he added.

“Then we have Temba, who is still in his recovery process. It’s not something that will be resolved in a week, but we don’t expect it to take too long either. We just have to be careful with his return because he’s a very important player for us.”

Cardoso also addressed the situation of Iqraam Rayners, who recently returned from national team duty.

“As you know, Rayners had some health concerns after joining us from the national team. Thankfully, all tests confirmed there’s no cardiac issue that could affect his career".

" It was a minor problem, and after two weeks of rest, he’s now back training fully with the team,” the coach said.

“Finally, Zuko [Mdunyelwa] has resumed full training with the group, and we expect him to be available soon,” he concluded.

Sundowns will hope to have most of their key players fit as they face Remo Stars in a decisive second leg clash.
