CAFCL: Overturning The Defeat Is Not Impossible — Remo Stars Assistant Coach

Remo Stars assistant coach, Tiago Conde, has expressed optimism that his team can still overturn their heavy defeat against South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Sky Blue Stars suffered a 5-1 loss at home in the first leg of the second preliminary round fixture, leaving them with a mountain to climb ahead of the return leg in Pretoria.

Despite the daunting task, Conde believes football is full of surprises and maintains that a comeback is achievable with the right attitude and adjustments.

 “This is football sometimes you lose to learn,” Conde said.

“We’ll review our performance, fix our defensive lapses, and approach the second leg with a better mentality. Overturning a four-goal deficit is tough, but not impossible.”

The Ogun State-based club will need to produce a near-perfect performance away from home to secure qualification for the group stage of the competition.
