Nigeria’s sole representative in the CAF Champions League, Rivers United, have sealed their place in the group stage after a commanding 3-1 victory over Black Bulls of Mozambique on Saturday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Pride of Rivers took an early lead through Wasiu Falolu, piling pressure on the visitors who were determined to defend their slim first-leg advantage.

Macklyn Biokpo doubled the lead from the penalty spot before the Mozambicans pulled one back to keep their hopes alive.

However, Zechariah Timothy’s stunning strike in the 80th minute restored Rivers United’s two-goal cushion and secured a 3-2 aggregate triumph, sending the Nigerian side into the group stage of Africa’s elite club competition.
