Rivers United head coach Finidi George has issued a strong warning to Moroccan giants RS Berkane ahead of their crucial second CAF Champions League group stage match, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Pride of Rivers will host Berkane on Friday at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, where they will be aiming to bounce back from their disappointing 3-0 defeat to Pyramids FC in Cairo last weekend.
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Finidi stressed that his team has learned vital lessons from the previous game and is fully prepared to secure all three points.
“Our focus is on the game against Berkane tomorrow (Friday). We’ve made enquiries about them and we know what to expect,” he said.
“We have all the support we need to maintain high intensity and secure the maximum points. It’s going to be a difficult game, but the match we played in Cairo taught us so much, and we don’t want to make the same mistakes again.”
Finidi assured fans that the team has worked tirelessly since returning from Egypt and believes they are ready to deliver a positive result.
“We have learned our lessons and we are working hard to get a positive result,” he added confidently.
Rivers United will be hoping to revive their campaign with a victory that can put them back in contention in Group B.
