CAFCL: We Must Be Mentally Prepared — Finidi

Rivers United head coach, Finidi George, has emphasized the need for his players to be mentally prepared ahead of their CAF Champions League group stage campaign, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The former Nigerian champions were drawn into a tough Group A that includes RS Berkane of Morocco, Power Dynamos of Zambia, and defending champions FC Pyramids of Egypt.

Reacting to the draw released on Monday in Johannesburg, Finidi said the team has no reason to fear any opponent but must be mentally strong to compete at the highest level.

“It’s a good draw, and we’re not scared of anyone. If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best,” Finidi stated.

“It’s going to be tough, but I’m confident we won’t struggle physically. What matters most is our mental readiness and focus,” he added.

Rivers United will begin their group stage campaign away to RS Berkane in Morocco.
