CAFCL: We Want To Achieve the Unimaginable Against Sundowns – Remo Stars’ Tiago Conde

Remo Stars Technical Adviser, Tiago Conde, has declared that his side is determined to achieve the unimaginable when they face South African champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, in the CAF Champions League, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian side will square off against Sundowns in the second preliminary round of the continental competition, with the first leg scheduled for this weekend in Nigeria.

Conde acknowledged the quality and pedigree of the South African giants but expressed confidence in his team’s preparation and ambition to pull off an upset.

 “Obviously, it’s a big challenge for us. It’s a privilege to play against a team like Mamelodi Sundowns their history in this competition is much bigger than ours,” Conde told the media.

“But we’ve prepared well for these two games. We want to go where we’ve never been before. Our main focus is clear to do what we’ve never done: win and reach the group stage of the CAF Champions League.”

The Portuguese tactician emphasized that while the task is difficult, it will not be one-sided.

“Is it difficult? Of course. But it’s also difficult for them because it’s 11 against 11 and a game played over two legs,” he added.

“Our plan and organization are built for these two games to win both and progress to the next stage of the competition.”

The first-leg encounter will take place at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Ogun State.
