CF Montréal And Nigerian Forward Ibrahim Sunusi Mutually Terminate Contract

Sampson Adedeji

Canadian Major League Soccer (MLS) club CF Montréal has officially announced the mutual termination of the contract with Nigerian striker Ibrahim Sunusi, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In a brief statement, the club confirmed that both parties have agreed to part ways.

“CF Montréal and forward Sunusi Ibrahim have mutually agreed to terminate his contract,” the club said.

Sunusi, who joined the Canadian side from Nigeria, had previously made a name for himself as one of the most prolific scorers in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL).

He was a top scorer for Nasarawa United before securing a move abroad to North America.

The early termination brings an end to the forward’s stint with CF Montréal.

No further details regarding the player’s future destination or reasons for the mutual agreement were disclosed in the club’s announcement.

Sunusi’s departure adds to the list of recent squad adjustments for the Montreal-based MLS franchise as they navigate the ongoing season.
