CHAN 2024: Senegal Are A Strong Side, But We’re Ready – Chelle

As Nigeria prepares for their opening Group D clash against Senegal on Tuesday, Super Eagles B coach Eric Chelle has acknowledged the quality of their opponents while expressing confidence in his team’s readiness, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Speaking at Monday’s pre-match press conference, Chelle said: "I don’t think it’s a derby, but this is a game between two big footballing nations in Africa. Senegal have a rich history, a strong generation of players, and a very good team."

He stressed that his immediate focus remains on the opening fixture: "I don’t want to talk about Congo or Sudan for now. Our priority is our first match tomorrow. We want to take each game as it comes, step by step."

Chelle also assured fans that preparations have gone well: "Our preparation for this game has been solid, and we will aim to implement everything we’ve worked on when we face Senegal."
