Coventry City have finalised a permanent transfer for Super Eagles forward Taiwo Awoniyi, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

According to Italian and Transfer Football Expert Fabrizio Romano, the clubs have reached an agreement for a permanent transfer, with Awoniyi's medical now underway.

Frank Lampard is set to add a new striker to his Coventry squad. The 29-year-old Nigerian striker has had a fair spell with Nottingham Forest, where he made over 100 appearances and starred in their promotion and survival efforts.

Forest supporters shared heartfelt thanks, with one saying the team might have been relegated without him, while others hoped for a proper send-off.

Coventry fans are buzzing about the signing boosting their promotion charge under Frank Lampard, complete with graphics of Awoniyi in sky blue.
