D'Tigress Suffer Narrow Defeat To China In Opening Exhibition Game

Nigeria's senior women's basketball team, D'Tigress, began their exhibition series in China with a narrow 70-67 defeat to the hosts in Haikou on Friday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The reigning African champions put up a spirited display in a closely contested encounter, matching China for long periods before falling just three points short at the final buzzer.

Despite the defeat, head coach Rena Wakama will be encouraged by her team's performance as D'Tigress continue their preparations for upcoming international competitions.

Nigeria will have another opportunity to test themselves against China when both teams meet again in their second exhibition game on Saturday, August 9.
