President Félix Tshisekedi has announced a massive reward package for the DR Congo national football team following their historic qualification for the FIFA World Cup for the first time in 52 years, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to reports, the Congolese leader pledged brand new Jeep vehicles, substantial cash bonuses, and large plots of land to players and members of the technical crew in recognition of their achievement.

The Leopards sealed their World Cup ticket after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Jamaica national football team in the final of the intercontinental playoff held in Mexico.

The win marks a significant milestone for Congolese football, ending a decades-long absence from the global showpiece and sparking celebrations across the country.

The government’s reward package is seen as both recognition of the team’s success and an incentive to further motivate the squad ahead of the tournament.
