Davnotch Nigeria Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to the growth of tennis in the country by sustaining its long-standing sponsorship of the Davnotch National Open Tennis Championship, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The company's Managing Director, Emmanuel Ochei, made the pledge during a media briefing ahead of the grand finale of the sixth edition of the tournament at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

Ochei said the company remains committed to supporting the development of tennis through sustained investment, innovation and strategic planning. He disclosed that future editions of the championship would feature increased prize money and enhanced initiatives aimed at improving player development.

"Sports development requires consistent investment, innovation and deliberate planning," Ochei said. "Future editions of the Davnotch National Open Tennis Championship will feature increased prize money and enhanced initiatives for players."

Highlighting the impact of the company's investment in Nigerian tennis, Ochei pointed to the national team's recent promotion to Group II of the Davis Cup, ending a 37-year wait after defeating higher-ranked Uzbekistan.

According to him, the achievement reflects the success of players who have emerged through previous editions of the Davnotch National Open Tennis Championship.

He expressed confidence that the competition would continue to serve as a platform for discovering and nurturing young talents capable of competing at the highest level.

Ochei added that the company's long-term objective is to help position Nigeria among the leading tennis nations in Africa and on the global stage.
