Dikko Confirms Approval Of Super Eagles, Falcons, D’Tigress Rewards

The Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Malam Shehu Dikko, has confirmed that the long-awaited rewards for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, Super Falcons and D’Tigress have been fully approved and processed, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Super Falcons and D’Tigress are due to be rewarded following their triumphs in their respective African competitions, while the Super Eagles are to be honoured for finishing as runners-up at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations held in Côte d’Ivoire.

Dikko made the confirmation on Friday during an interview on Arise Television, where he provided details on the status of the rewards, which include houses, land, national honours and monetary incentives.

 “I can tell you Mr President has already approved the houses and the land for the Super Eagles, and the National Awards, and the monies for the Super Falcons. All that has been processed,” Dikko said.

He further disclosed that documentation for the housing component has already been secured.

“As I speak to you, I have in my possession all the Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) for the houses of the players in Lagos and Abuja for both the Super Eagles, Super Falcons and D’Tigress,” he added.

According to the NSC chairman, the national honours have also been finalized, while payment of the financial rewards is at an advanced stage.

 “I have all the certificates for the National Awards. The money has been processed and is currently at the payment point at the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation,” Dikko concluded.

 The confirmation is expected to ease concerns among stakeholders and athletes, who have been awaiting the fulfilment of the promised rewards following their historic performances for the country.
