African football icon Didier Drogba has reportedly arrived in Italy to present Atalanta with a petition advocating for Ademola Lookman, the African Player of the Year, to be allowed to pursue his desired transfer.
BSNSpthe orts.com.ng sourced on African Hub, Drogba is delivering a 50-page petition that has been approved by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
The petition calls for “a fair and transparent transfer process” for Lookman, who currently holds the African Player of the Year Award.
“This initiative highlights the importance of accountability and justice in global football transfers, especially concerning African stars,” it states.
This development follows a post from the Nigerian national team's social media account expressing their support for Lookman in his quest to leave Atalanta for Inter Milan.
Currently, Lookman is believed to be in Portugal after spending some time in London.
He walked out on Atalanta training over a week ago, reportedly frustrated with the club's refusal to allow his transfer, despite a sufficient offer of €45 million, including add-ons, from Inter.
