Edo Queens will aim to secure their first win of the 2025 Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) Premiership season when they host Heartland Queens in a Matchday 2 fixture at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Benin-based side will be looking to bounce back from their opening-day 3–2 defeat to Bayelsa Queens in Yenagoa, a thrilling encounter played at the Samson Siasia Stadium. Despite the loss, Edo Queens showed flashes of quality, and head coach Moses Aduku is expected to inject more pace and depth into his squad as they target maximum points at home.

History appears to favour Edo Queens, as Heartland Queens have yet to record a victory against them since the inception of the NWFL Premiership. Known for their physical style of play, Heartland Queens are expected to pose a stern test, but Edo Queens remain confident of asserting their dominance, especially with home support behind them.

Fans in Benin City are anticipating a strong response from the team in their first home match of the season. Edo Queens management and coaching staff have been commended for strengthening the squad with high-profile and highly committed players as the club sets its sights on a return to continental competition.

Encouraging updates from the team’s camp suggest high morale and a renewed determination to challenge for the league title this season. Players have vowed to deliver an improved performance against Heartland Queens and put last week’s narrow defeat behind them.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
