Morocco have been ranked Africa's highest-performing team at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after recording the continent's best average player rating in figures released by football statistics platform FotMob, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Atlas Lions finished with an average team rating of 7.02, reflecting another impressive campaign on the global stage. The quarter-finalists once again underlined their status as one of world football's emerging powers following their historic run to the semi-finals at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Egypt ranked second among the continent's representatives with an average rating of 6.92 after an impressive campaign that saw the Pharaohs reach the Round of 16. Ivory Coast finished a close third on 6.91, having produced a series of competitive performances during the tournament.
