Ethiopian FA Clarifies Reports Of Missing Youth Players At Gothia Cup

The Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) has clarified reports surrounding youth players who allegedly went missing during the Gothia Cup in Sweden, stating that the team involved was not an official Ethiopian national team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In a statement, the EFF expressed sadness over the reports but stressed that the players did not travel to Sweden under the Federation's supervision or as representatives of Ethiopia's national football programme.

According to the Federation, the group secured the opportunity to participate in the tournament independently and travelled on their own.

The EFF also called on the media and the public to accurately identify the team involved in the incident, urging them not to describe it as an official Ethiopian National Team.

The Federation's clarification comes amid widespread reports linking the missing players to Ethiopia's national youth setup.
