Etoile du Sahel Fans Raise $1.3m To Rescue Club from Financial Crisis

Etoile Sportive du Sahel fans have reportedly raised approximately $1.3 million to help rescue the Tunisian club from a severe financial crisis and secure its registration for the 2026/27 Ligue 1 season, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The supporters’ fundraising efforts enabled the club to clear a number of outstanding financial obligations, including more than $120,000 owed to former player Mohamed Amine Ben Amor.

The financial intervention comes as Etoile face mounting debts that had threatened their participation in the new Tunisian top-flight campaign.

The club is now set to begin the 2026/27 season with a difficult away fixture against rivals Esperance de Tunis on August 22.

The remarkable intervention by the supporters highlights the strong bond between Etoile du Sahel and its fan base, who have stepped in to help secure the club’s immediate future.
