By BSN Sports
FC Ebedei's players and officials have arrived in Denmark to begin a three-month training and development tour aimed at enhancing both player and coaching development, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The delegation is led by Club President, Barrister Churchill Oliseh, alongside General Manager and Head of Youth Development, Coach Fredrick Oliseh, Head Coach Ifeanyi Emeghara, assistant coaches and a group of the club's promising young players.
The team departed Nigeria shortly after concluding its campaign in the Nationwide League One (NLO) playoffs on Wednesday night and arrived safely in Denmark on Thursday.
Beyond Denmark, the tour will also include visits to Sweden, Spain and Portugal, where the club will participate in a series of football development programmes and training activities.
A major highlight of the tour is the professional development programme for the club's coaching staff. During their stay in Europe, the coaches will undergo advanced coaching education, certification and capacity-building courses under some of the continent's experienced instructors and youth football specialists. The programme will also provide practical on-field sessions, allowing them to apply modern coaching techniques over the three-month period.
Before departing Nigeria, the FC Ebedei delegation had a chance meeting with former Super Eagles captain Austin "Jay-Jay" Okocha at the departure lounge of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.
The Nigerian football legend commended the club's commitment to youth identification and development, describing the initiative as a significant investment in the future of Nigerian football. Okocha also spent time interacting with the players, encouraging them to remain disciplined, work hard and strive for excellence both on and off the pitch throughout the tour and their careers.
Speaking after the encounter, FC Ebedei Director of Football, Babatunde Oladeinde, expressed appreciation for Okocha's words of encouragement, describing the meeting as an inspiring moment for the players and officials.
