FIBA: D'Tigress Ranked 8th In The World, Best In Africa

Nigeria's D'Tigress have been ranked the 8th best women's basketball team in the latest FIBA Women’s world rankings, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The D’Tigresses sit pretty at eight in the latest FIBA rankings after they won the Women's AfroBasket title a record seven times, with their most recent victory being their fifth consecutive win in 2025. 

D'Tigress' dominance in African women's basketball is unparalleled, and they also qualified for the 2026 FIBA Women's World Cup. 

Elsewhere, Great Britain dropped two places to 22nd while Belgium reached the top five following their EuroBasketWomen win.

South Sudan is the biggest climber as it jumped 31 spots to 55th, while the USA, as expected, continues to top the rankings.
