FIBA World Cup Qualifier: South Sudan Were The Better Side – D’Tigers Coach Fizdale

D’Tigers head coach David Fizdale has admitted that South Sudan were the better side following Nigeria’s defeat in the ongoing FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nigeria suffered a narrow 82–79 defeat to South Sudan, leaving their hopes of securing qualification for the FIBA Basketball World Cup hanging by a thread.

Despite the setback, Fizdale said his team executed some of the plans they had set out before the game, particularly in terms of creating more shooting opportunities.

“We did the same thing we set out to do. One thing that we talked about is we want to get more shots than our opponents.

“Again, we got 13 more shots than them. We got great looks. We give credit to South Sudan; they are a proven team.”

The defeat leaves D’Tigers needing a strong result in their final game against Cape Verde on Sunday as they look to keep their qualification hopes alive.

Nigeria will face Cape Verde in their final qualifier on Sunday.
