FIFA Bans Vuvuzelas, Air Horns Ahead Of 2026 World Cup

Sampson Adedeji

World football governing body FIFA has announced a ban on the use of vuvuzelas, air horns, and whistles across all stadiums for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The decision means that fans attending matches in the host countries the United States, Canada, and Mexico will not be allowed to bring the noise-making instruments into any venue.

According to the directive, security personnel at stadium entry points will confiscate any prohibited items found on supporters before they are allowed access.

The move is understood to be part of efforts to improve matchday experience, ensure clear communication within stadiums, and maintain safety standards during the global showpiece.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the three North American nations, is expected to attract millions of fans from across the world.
