‎FIFA has opened a disciplinary case against Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan following the Pharaohs’ 2026 FIFA World Cup clash against Argentina, BSNSports.com.ng reports. ‎ ‎

Hassan is being investigated over a series of statements made before and after the match, with FIFA examining whether his comments breached its disciplinary regulations. ‎ ‎

Among the issues under investigation are Hassan’s public support for Palestine and his claims that Argentina received favourable treatment because of Lionel Messi’s status, commercial considerations and the team’s position as world champions. ‎ ‎ ‎

The Egypt coach also alleged that his team was deliberately wronged during the tournament and suggested that both external and internal factors had influenced the outcome of the match. ‎ ‎ ‎

Hassan reportedly went further by declaring that there was “no justice” in the tournament and questioning whether the encounter had been conducted in line with FIFA’s principles of fair play and respect. ‎ ‎

‎FIFA has made the disciplinary case file and investigative report available through its Legal Portal, with the matter now awaiting a formal disciplinary decision. ‎ ‎ ‎
